My Story
The Small Country Mouse Goes To The Big City!
I grew up on a small farm in the country in a blue collar family of six where there was constant fighting about money. As was common in the old days, my father ran the checkbook and was very stingy when it came to spending money on the children. On top of that, it was a household filled with physical and verbal abuse that left me fantasizing about running away everyday. I vowed to myself daily that once I left home and started my life, I would become financially independent and educated about money.
There are pivotal moments during our lives that define who and what we are, and for me:
- I received two scholarships, one that happened after high school, which allowed me to attend community college and major in business, and the second was a scholarship allowing me to attend the Ithaca College School of Business and major in Marketing. I was the third child in line and by the time it came to me, there was no money for college, so this was a huge turning point for me.
- After finishing college, I left the small town behind, moved to Manhattan and began my career in financial services. Over the following years I was blessed to work for many prestigious investment management companies as I worked my way up the ladder to Regional Director of ING and living a lavish lifestyle in NYC.
- Becoming a VP & Retirement Specialist at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Managment where I grew a financial advisory practice from no clients to a $25 million portfolio, winning numerous sales awards.
- My developed faith in a higher power and purpose. As I review my life in the rearview mirror, I know there were numerous times of spiritual intervention that helped guide me to where I am today. I have known my entire life I was meant for more, and I’ve finally found my true path. And that is what I want for you!
I worked for many world class investment management and Fortune 500 companies and received some of the best sales, marketing, and business training in the world. Over time I began to question the business decision making of senior people in the company and after being downsized, layed off, and terminated for personal reasons, I began to question my decision making for putting my life in the hands of others in my quest for financial independence.
Today, my mission is to take all my training, experience, talents and gifts to help women professionals to escape their 9-5 and start their dream business and grow it to 6 figures and beyond!
